The company’s product catalog includes hundreds of complex industrial automation products, so when prospects come, sales managers often provide delayed commercial proposals and lose sales opportunities.

We had to create a solution that would:
Speed up the product selection and quotation process with a digital solution;

Firstly, we conducted a series of workshops
We met and gathered the requirements. After clarifying the details, we came up with the idea of a Sales Configurator.
Configurator is a software application that merges an extensive product catalog, expert knowledge about configurable industrial products, and pricing information. Such Configurator enables sales managers to make fast, cost-efficient, and tailored solution offers for their customers' factory automation.
We assembled a team to cover project management, development, and unit testing functions.
Then, we designed the proposed solution
We agreed to create the solution in the Excel environment, which is well-known to sales managers. In the Configurator, customers are guided through the various parts one after the other, depending on their selection of requirements.
As a result, the Bill of Material and its price is generated at the end of the configuration process.

Sprints started with development, followed by tests, and ended with a demo for the customer.

With this process, our partner frequently received new releasable functionalities, so they tested and received feedback from their customers each time.
As a result, the agile process allowed our customer to adjust their business requirements and receive a solution that meets their actual customer needs.
The solution went live
To facilitate an easy go-live, we provided training materials such as video recordings and documents to instruct the customer and ensure they could take over the configurator handling.
We support the solution in case of bugs or any questions that require consultation.

The final software solution reduced the time needed to prepare a commercial proposal from several hours to just a few minutes. Consequently, sales managers have quicker conversions and more time to generate more opportunities.
