Meet Philipp Maier! In 2018, he founded RISO, a platform that enables German companies to use e-benefits conveniently. Subsidy-based benefits allow them to reduce salary increase costs and become more competitive in the market.
Philipp wants to market RISO with ads to acquire more new clients. But, before that, RISO needed updates to its branding and application. That's where we came in to help.
Philipp asked us to fill in the blank spots in RISO's branding. Our team began with extensive research, reviewing the current website and those of RISO's competitors and talking to customers and Philipp. As a result, our team gained several insights and generated ideas that guided us toward the necessary changes.

We defined RISO’s nature more clearly. Since they deal with sensitive topics such as subsidies and taxes, RISO must feel helpful, trustworthy, and caring. Therefore, they should focus on minimizing hassle, prioritizing customer service, and communicating honestly.

We focused our communications on CEOs and decision-makers and removed those directed at employees. This way, employers don't receive conflicting messages, and it is clear who the communications are for.

We refreshed RISO by making their communications look and feel modern and appealing.
As a result, Philipp and his team now have the right guidelines for crafting written and visual content that reflects RISO's identity.
The RISO app was a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) with many bugs and lacking functionalities. We needed to improve it as a simple, user-friendly app with a backend for each employer and an intuitive frontend with more features.
To reach these targets, we had several challenges to complete:

We heightened the security regarding login methods (adding login with Touch-ID, Face ID, or credentials) and unauthorized access to the app infrastructure, code and database. And also set up a reliable and automated data backup.

We created multiple integrations into the app (voucher codes, Zoho, Beplus, and DatevLodas) to allow RISO to add new benefits.

RISO is growing and offering more types of benefits. Therefore, we reconstructed the design as a circle diagram to show more benefits.
Firstly, we conducted a workshop to collect the customer's requirements and created a product backlog.
Then, we assembled a development team and started working in 2-week sprints, releasing some usable product parts with each sprint.
Before the start of development, we finalized the UI/UX design to ensure it was both simple and intuitive, which was essential for RISO's promotion.
Next, we proceeded to develop the RISO app, adding new features (app notifications, biometric login, reminders for users) and fixing any bugs.
Finally, we tested the final version of RISO and uploaded it to Google Play and the App Store. Now, it is a fully functional app for both iOS and Android that allows employees to manage their benefits.
We defined a reasonable branding that meets the needs of our audiences and overcomes barriers. We incorporated branding ideas into the RISO app, redesigned it, and developed it with high quality, which allowed RISO to be successfully promoted.
